Watershed Conservation in Mid-Coast Maine

This pairing of maps aims to identify target areas for land trusts to conserve in Mid-Coast Maine. The first map illustrates the proportion of wetland types within each watershed, and locates the watersheds with the most freshwater emergent wetlands—an indicator of ecological vitality. The second map zooms into a watershed of interest and visualizes the co-occurrence (overlap) between ecological assets, highlighting target areas that should be prioritized for conservation.
